SPONSORSHIPS
Sponsorship requests may be made at any time for amounts under $1,000.
The Foundation reviews sponsorship applications as they are received.
The applicant may receive a request to appear before the Foundation Board to make a brief presentation.
The Board then acts on the request at its next bi-monthly meeting.
Sponsorship Guidelines
Deadlines for submission of applications:
Sponsorship requests may be submitted to the Foundation at any time. The Foundation will act on submitted proposals in a timely manner. However, requests received less than two weeks prior to the next scheduled Board meeting may result in review and consideration at a subsequent Board meeting. Regular Board meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of January, March, May, July, September, and November (subject to change).
Who may apply:
Applicants must be not-for-profit, tax exempt and service a public purpose.

Purposes for which funds may be requested:

Programs or events that contribute to the culture, character, or enjoyment of the Lake Mills area.

The program or event may be one time or annual.

Application frequency may not exceed once per year.
The Foundation typically DOES NOT award sponsorships:

To support operating or on-going expenses of organizations.

To pay wages or salaries.

In response to annual drives, to eliminate previously incurred deficits or expenses or debt retirement.

To endowment funds.

For religious or sectarian purposes, unless such provides benefit to the community as a whole.

To individuals, other than through awards or pre-established scholarship funds.

For lobbying, partisan political purposes or campaigns.
Formal presentation of proposal:
In addition to submission of a written proposal, all sponsorship application proposals may be subject to a formal presentation to the Foundation Board.
Note: The sponsorship request application must be approved and signed by a supervisor, when applicable. For example, a request involving the School District, or its students must be approved by a building principal or the District Administrator. Requests from city departments must be approved and signed by the City Manager.
